IDL Boss Honored by its Host Community


It was a marriage of the Awori and Esan Cultures as friends and staff of the Managing Director of Intercontinental Distillers Limited Patrick Anegbe gathered to celebrate the conferment of the titles of Baase Maraya and Yeye Maraya of otta on him and his wife.
The ceremony which saw a large contingent of the Esan people led by their Traditional ruler (Anslem Edenojie of Uromi )  attending was kicked off with the Otta Anthem.
In the welcome address of the Olota, Oba Moshood Adetoro Alani Oyede said the conferment of the chieftaincy titles were based on the works of Patrick Anegbe (MD of IDL) towards the community. He also thanked the traditional ruler of Uromi for attending the occasion and supporting their illustrious son.
Engr Chief Patrick I. Anegbe said in his response after receiving the title that IDL will do more for its host community, Otta. He listed some of the projects already completed by the company as employment of indigenes, renovation of classrooms, and provision of water.
The event ended on a high note with guests entertained at the reception with food, drinks and cultural displays from both cultures. Patrick Anegbe is a seasoned engineer who rose in the ranks from a plant engineer to become the Managing Director of IDL. He is also a titled chief of the Uromi Kingdom.
